About SignPrep
SignPrep is a cooperation project funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme, running from November 2025 to October 2027. Its mission is straightforward: to make sign language learning accessible to every family that needs it, through free, high-quality digital tools that work at home, in school, and across Europe.
The project is built on a simple but important principle – nothing about us without us. Deaf educators, native signers, and deaf community organisations are central to every stage of SignPrep, from designing content to making decisions. We believe that the people closest to an issue are best placed to solve it.
Over 24 months, SignPrep will produce a Minecraft Education Edition game in four sign languages, a multilingual online sign dictionary of 500 vocabulary items, structured lesson plans for sign language teachers, a family guide to learning together, and a destigmatisation resource for hearing families – all freely available to anyone who needs them.
